His Excellency, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has commiserated with the Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, over the passing of his elder brother, Sunday Makinde.

In a statement by his media adviser, Crusoe Osagie, Obaseki expressed grief and sadness over the tragic loss, describing the deceased as a distinguished and accomplished engineer, who worked for the development and growth of the State and nation.

According to him, “It is with great grief and sadness that I received the news of the passing of Sunday Makinde, the elder brother of Seyi Makinde, the Oyo State Governor.

"A quintessential gentleman, Sunday lived a selfless life in service to humanity and the upliftment of others. He will be sorely missed.

“I commiserate with my dear brother and Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, the entire Makinde family, friends, and well-wishers, and pray that God will grant all the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.”
