Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, on Sunday in Benin condoled with the family of late former Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin, Prof. Osayuki Oshodin.
Obaseki, who paid a condolence visit to the residence of the late former Vice chancellor, said he was very proud of Prof. Oshodin's accomplishments in his lifetime.
According to him, “I am here to condole with you and urge you to be very strong at this trying time. Know that your father has done his best to contribute to the development of the society, the state and nation at large.
“As a government, we will do our best to give him a befitting burial. We know what to do by the grace of God. We will ensure his burial is peaceful and successful.
“Be strong as a family, our father has accomplished a lot in life. As a state, we are proud of his accomplishments. We all know what happened. The doctors did all they could to revive him but God knows best and we can't question him," he said.
Speaking on behalf of the family, the immediate younger sister, Prof. Mrs Kokunre Eghafona, thanked the governor and his entourage for paying them a visit, saying that his words of encouragement are well appreciated.
