Obaseki celebrates Esama of Benin, Gabriel Igbinedion at 89

The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has felicitated the Esama of Benin Kingdom, Sir (Chief) Dr. Osawaru Gabriel Igbinedion, on his 89th birthday anniversary.

The governor, in a statement, eulogised the Esama of Benin’s contribution to various sectors of the nation's economy.

He said, “On this auspicious occasion of your eighty-ninth birthday, I am filled with heartfelt gratitude as I join the House of Igbinedion in celebrating you, my father, our father, and a true father of Edo State.

“The remarkable impact you have had on our lives and the legacy you have built in the state and the nation deserves commendation. Generations, born and unborn, will live to share tales of your great exploits as a titan of industries and a pioneer of pioneers. A relentless pace setter, you paved the way for others to follow and created new frontiers that opened limitless opportunities for Edo people.

“Your successes across various sectors of the economy – education, aviation, media broadcasting, banking, healthcare, hospitality, transport, manufacturing, crude oil exploration and shipping, among others, are a testimony to your rare acumen and outstanding capacity.”

“With an unwavering dedication to philanthropy, you continue to touch countless lives, providing hope, opportunities, and empowerment to those in need, demonstrating the true essence of a compassionate and generous leader,”

“As we celebrate this milestone in your life, we are reminded of your contributions to the development of our dear state, nation, and indeed the continent of Africa. You remain a colossus whose legacies have set a remarkable example for us all to follow.

“On behalf of the government and good people of Edo State, I pray that God grants you joy and fulfillment in your celebration and the many more years ahead with continued health and vigour,” he added.
