Edo PUWOV Coordinator, Yusuf-Osagie bags honorary award, hailed for support for safety, security in Edo

…to partner with Edo students to tackle drug abuse, cultism

Edo Students under the aegis of the National Association of Edo State Students (NAESS) has recognized the State Coordinator of the Public Works Volunteers (PUWOV), Mukhtar Yusuf-Osagie with an honourary award on true leadership for his contributions to the safety, security, and development of the State.

The leadership of the association, led by the President, Comr. Aliu Amuda Emmanuel and Secretary, Comr. Abundance Diagi, presented the award to Yusuf-Osagie, at his office, in Benin City, the Edo State capital.

This is as PUWOV has concluded plans to partner with the students to drive the campaign against drug abuse and cultism in Edo State.

The campaign will kick off with the 'NAESS NATIONAL Conference with the theme, “Drug Abuse Awareness Campaign/Shunning Cultism.”

Describing the PUWOV Coordinator as a quintessential icon, a man of outstanding understanding and mentor to Edo State students, the association said he was chosen for the award in recognition of his selfless and patriotic service towards nation-building, societal transformation, welfarism of PUWOV staff, and untiring effort in rebranding Edo State.

“This award is evidence that you have performed credibly in all facets of your assignments and thus deserve to be celebrated. Your commitment and dedication to selfless service to humanity and the growth of our dear nation and State has earned you this honor, thus restoring the hope and faith of Edo people and Nigerians. On behalf of the colossal students and youths who have benefited from your kind gesture, we say thank you and more grease to your elbow,” they noted.

Receiving the award, the PUWOV Coordinator appreciated the student for honouring him, noting that the award was a call to do more for Edo students and Edo people, working with the State Government to ensure law and order and guarantee the safety of lives and property.

He charged the students to be good ambassadors of the State while supporting the government in its vision of ensuring a secured, virile, and prosperous Edo State.
