The Edo State Public Works Volunteers (PUWOV) has commenced physical verification and reassessment of personnel across the State.
In a statement, the Edo State Public Works Volunteers (PUWOV) Coordinator, Mukhtar Yusuf-Osagie, said the headcount is aimed at revalidating the identity of officials of the scheme and enhancing efficiency.
According to him, the exercise which commenced on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, in Edo North Senatorial District of the State, will end on Monday, May 27, 2024.
He said, “The Edo State Public Works Volunteers (PUWOV) has commenced physical verification and reassessment of its personnel across the State.
“The exercise kicked off today, Wednesday, May 22, 2024, in three local government councils in Edo North Senatorial District, including Etsako East, Etsako West and Etsako Central.
“Tomorrow, Thursday, May 23, 2024, the physical verification and reassessment of PUWOV personnel will take place in Owan West, Owan East and Akoko Edo Local Government Areas.”
Yusuf-Osagie further noted, “This will be followed by the verification of PUWOV officials in the five local government councils that make up Edo Central Senatorial District, including Esan South-East, Igueben, Esan North East, Esan West and Esan Central, on Friday, May 24, 2024.
“The exercise will come to a close on Monday, May 27, 2024, with the verification and reassessment of personnel in the seven local governments of Edo South Senatorial District, including Oredo, Ovia South West, Egor, Ovia North East, Orhionmwon, Ikpoba Okha and Uhunmwode.”
The PUWOV Coordinator however noted that the physical verification and reassessment exercise was compulsory for all personnel of the scheme in the State.
