The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has said the government has mobilised contractors and will, in the dry season, embark on aggressive road repairs and maintenance across the state's 18 local government councils.
Obaseki, who spoke to journalists in Benin City, reassured the government’s commitment to improving physical infrastructure, ensuring improved livelihoods for the people.
The governor noted that his administration will continue to sustain investment in infrastructure development, improving internal road network in the state, emphasising proper design and supervision of contractors, adding, “This will further ensure improved business environment and open up more areas to economic activities.”
According to him, “As part of our strategy this dry season, we are going to be grading most of the earth roads in every local government area in the state.
“We know some of our internal roads are bad but we are addressing it as contractors have been mobilized from this holiday period through the end of this dry season to work on the roads.”
He added, “We will make sure that most of the roads across Edo’s 18 Local Government Areas are motorable.”
