I received with profound sadness the news of the passing of the pioneer Edo State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Solomon Aguele.

Chief Aguele was an astute politician, a visionary leader, and a devoted party man whose steadfastness, wisdom, and exemplary service were instrumental in laying the solid foundation of the party in Edo State. His immense contributions to the growth and stability of the PDP remain indelible in our political history.

I recall with nostalgia, Chief Aguele's kind nature and very altruistic intentions for the Esan people, the people of Edo State and indeed all Nigerians. His support for me, and tireless efforts despite his age and frailness, to unite the party ahead of the Presidential and Governorship elections, are most memorable.

As we mourn his passing, we also celebrate a life dedicated to the pursuit of justice, equity, and good governance. Chief Aguele’s legacy of loyalty, sacrifice, and statesmanship will continue to inspire generations within the party and beyond.

It is my earnest prayer that Chief Aguele's labour and efforts to build democracy in Nigeria will not be in vain.

I extend my heartfelt condolences to his family, the PDP and indeed the people of Edo State. May the Almighty grant him eternal rest and give his lovedones the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
