Former Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has celebrated the State’s women's team and Nigeria Women’s Premier League champions, Edo Queens, for securing a spot in the semifinals of CAF Women’s Champions League in Morocco, after an impressive comeback to defeat defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns 2-1 in their final Group B match.
Obaseki in a statement by his media aide, Crusoe Osagie, said, “I heartily congratulate our superstar Edo Queens ladies for their spectacular performance and incredible comeback victory against reigning African champions, Mamelodi Sundowns, at the CAF Women’s Champions League in Casablanca, Morocco, to secure their place in the tournament’s semifinals as Group B leaders.
