Asemota, Guobadia, Asika, others to headline Edo maiden tech conference

The Board Chairman, Edo Innovates, Mr. Victor Asemota; Senior Special Assistant to the President on Digital Transformation, Oswald Osaretin Guobadia and the Country Head for HP Inc, Nigeria, Emmanuel Asika, are among guests expected at the maiden edition of the Edo Innovates Tech Conference (#EITC2022), with the theme Innovation, Solutions and Talent; Driving the Economies of the Future.

The conference will be held at the Victor Uwaifo Creative Hub and Sound Stage in Benin City, Edo State from 29th November- 3rd December, 2022. 

The tech conference is being organized by the Edo State Government, through the Edo State Skills Development Agency (Edojobs), in partnership with the German Government and implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (also known as GIZ), Google Developers Group, Globacom Limited and Songhai Labs.

Other top experts in the industry confirmed for the event include and the Co-Founder, MOBicure (My Paddi & Omomi Apps), Dr. Charles Akhime; Chairman, Edo State Skills Development Agency, Mrs. Ukinebo Dare; Convener/Head, Edo Innovates,Izoduwa Precious Asemota and Global Merchant Business ChipperCash, Wiza Jalakasi.ien 

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Vetsark, Mene Blessing and the Co-founder and CMO, Piggyvest Joshua Chibueze, would be facilitating various panel discussions and break-out sessions during the hybrid conference.

According to the organisers, the #EITC2022 will provide tech talents and start-ups a safe platform to network and collaborate; build local solutions within their environment; showcase their skills and broaden their horizon; and strengthen the Nigerian tech ecosystem, with Edo serving at the epicenter to foster public-private partnerships within the tech space.

The conference would also enable start-ups to meet with potential partners and investors, with N2,000,000 (two million naira) up for grabs in the hackathon and N3,000,000 (three million naira) will be won in the business pitch competition across three different categories namely Agriculture, Education and Healthcare.
